CMMS Case Study at Cynk-Mal

Cynk-Mal S.A. is a Polish company specializing in galvanizing and the production of anti-corrosion steel products. Equipped with modern technology and a continuous galvanizing line for HDCGL steel strips, the company provides anti-corrosion protection services and delivers products that meet high quality standards.

Cynk-Mal products are primarily used in construction, road infrastructure, and energy sectors. They are used, among other things, as components of external lightning protection systems, as well as in solutions where durability and material resistance to operating conditions are key.

With the growth of production and the increasing complexity of technical processes, the company began to recognize the need to streamline workflow and better support internal operations.

Implementation Goal

The main goal of the project was to implement a system for the technical department that would enable the standardization of reactive and preventive processes. The solution also aimed to support activities related to the technical inventory, the collection and utilization of failure histories, and to improve access to and use of digital technical documentation.

During the pre-implementation analysis, the potential for using the CMMS system to develop preventive maintenance based on cyclical schedules was also identified, allowing for a shift from a reactive model to a more predictable maintenance approach.

With the future in mind, the system was designed as a flexible solution, capable of further development through both configuration and the implementation of additional modules, in line with the organization’s internal process flowcharts and evolving operational needs.

How did the CMMS system help?

The CMMS system enabled effective planning of preventive maintenance activities – both internally and externally – thanks to automatic notifications and the generation of checklists required for inspections. Spare parts warehouse management became more transparent thanks to ongoing inventory counts and the ability to analyze historical data on parts usage and related operating costs.

The system offers extensive reporting at the level of individual machines, individual departments, and the entire machine park. The ability to export data to spreadsheets facilitates further analysis and supports decision-making.

,,The CMMS reporting module allows us to track basic metrics such as MTTR and MTBF, as well as monitor time spent on service and downtime.”

Lidia Klarkowska, CEO

The solution aligns with the organization’s philosophy of continuous improvement and the TPM methodology, enabling systematic improvement of maintenance processes and gradual improvement of operational efficiency.
